Mercy Ministry, Inc is a 501c3 organization that was founded in October of 1998 by the late Evangelist Bennie J. Stevens.
Educated in the St.Louis public school system, Bennie graduated in the top 10 of her class of 1944, she was a charter member of the Junior NAACP and a member of the National Honor Society.
Her entire life was dedicated to worshiping and serving Jesus Christ, Her prayer was "Lord let me be one of Your Handmaids"
Evangelist Stevens had been bless to nurture families both spiritually and naturally throughout her entire life and serving as founder of Mercy Ministry.
She worked tirelessly to win souls to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, through Weekly prison visits, Operating an Prison Crisis Hotline, Bi-weekly Nursing Home visits, Food Pantry, and Clothing Outreach program providing school uniforms for several schools in the metropolitan area of St.Louis. Therefore establishing Mercy Ministry.
In her 80's, she passed on Mercy's torch of leadership to a new CEO in 2008. But it's gratifying, she said, to see her life's work continue on now that she had retired. "There's never a time God gives us something that should die in our hands," she said. "A good work needs to be passed on."
